Sedona Adventure by Dorte B.

SEDONA ADVENTURE

Home run out of the park, or should I say desert! Each time you travel with Snow Piccolo is an experience that you just cannot miss. Snow has an eye and compassion for detail that makes each time you travel with her a unique experience. So, when the call went out to join her and a posse of beautiful women on a special trip to Sedona I didn’t hesitate for a moment to throw my hat in the ring and immediately said, “Yes, I’m in”!

Sedona is in an area where magnetic vortexes are close to the surface and you may have a much stronger spiritual connection at these places.  My excitement grew as I realized that Sedona had all the elements that might enhance my own spiritual journey.  I had been trying to find a way to get a closer spiritual connection, as my program teaches me that I am only as well mentally and physically as my spiritual condition is kept up. I got really excited as I learned that when I sat at these vortexes I might have a deeper meditation experience that I would not encounter anywhere else.

Our trip was a combination of food for the brain and nourishment for the soul, centered around a fellowship History Symposium and the opportunity to experience the beautiful Mago Retreat center, which is nestled in the desert surrounded by the ever changing radiantly red rocks of the area. We were women who came from all corners of the United States, even a recent transplant from Switzerland.  We all converged on the airport in Phoenix, where we quickly found each other thanks to Snow’s detailed agenda and itineraries shared with us ahead of travel.

A special van took us on the trip from Phoenix to Sedona where we arrived late in the afternoon.  We arrived a day ahead of the symposium so we would have a little time to enjoy and soak up the history of the area.  The next morning we climbed into three jeeps on a guided excursion of the country side, including some of the stronger magnetic vortexes. We experienced a guided meditation at a male vortex, though somewhat impeded by jackhammers and construction work, it was still well worth the stop and was only but a small beginning of what was going to fill my heart and my soul for the weekend. The next stop took us further into the beautiful scenery of a park with a stream flowing through an area with a smaller female vortex.

As we came down to the river someone said, “Is that an Otter?” and the guide said, Oh no, there are no Otters here”.  But someone had a phone, and the phone had a camera, and in the camera there was not just one Otter, but two Otters frolicking!  Our guide read to us about the Otter…“Elements of earth and water are the female elements, and otter is a personification of femininity, always on the move and very curious with many positive traits, otter energy is sisterhood…. “, and here we stood, a circle of women in sisterhood. How do you explain that!

These are the kinds of experiences that you encounter when you travel with Snow.  She seems to travel in a bubble of attraction of new experiences and awareness where extraordinary things happen. We see Otters where there are not supposed to be Otters playing, and they are the personification of us!

Here we were given time to sit and to soak in the peace and quiet, to meditate on our own.

Of course you can’t go anywhere without shopping and when we got back into town some of us strolled along the main street in support of the local economy and some just wandered about until it was time to climb into another van which would take us to the Mago Retreat center in the desert. The retreat center and the History Symposium was an experience all in its own and another story.  The place exuded serenity with paths and areas to meditate.  The food and the accommodations were superb. Truly worth a return visit. The highlight for me were the two early morning guided prayer and meditation sessions which gave me more answers and insight, but also more questions, into what I am.

This trip was an exceptional personal experience where I had the privilege to be with women who have lived and practiced for a long time what I am seeking to be.  Thank you Snow, for all that you give of yourself for us and for including me in this experience.
